A spectacular 25th edition is being prepared by the The International Folklore Festival Veliko Tarnovo

The international folklore festival Veliko Tarnovo will celebrate its 25th consecutive edition in a spectacular way.

The international folklore festival Veliko Tarnovo starts on July 23 up to July 29 at the Summer Theater in the old capital. Concerts starting at 8 p.m. and admission free. Groups from Costa Rica, Egypt, China, India, Georgia, Colombia, Morocco, Hawaii, Mexico and Bulgaria will take part in the program. The slogan of this year’s edition is “Friends will be friends”, announced Stiliyana Yorgova, director of the International Folklore Festival. “Stories like this will remain in time and look for their continuation, not only because the Festival, as we all call it, is a celebration and established tradition for generations already. This is a magic that must be experience”, says Yorgova.

The baby deer Rem is the newest addition to the animal shelter in Hotnitsa

The five-month-old deer Rem is the newest addition to the “Four-legged friends” farm-shelter in the village of Hotnitsa. It is a one-of-a-kind place in the Veliko Tarnovo area where animals affected by human intervention or accidents can find care and love. Little Rem became part of the farm family soon after he was born. He was rescued by an elderly woman and then handed over to the shelter’s owners. The fragile four-legged animal would not have survived without the help of its benefactors, and today enjoys enviable living conditions, friends and great attention from visitors of the animal farm.

The 9th Annual Rock Fest in Mindya 2017

The picturesque village of Mindya is less than 30 minutes away from the old capital Veliko Tarnovo. Mindya Rock Fest is the most popular FREE Rock and Blues Fest in Bulgaria, also called “The Bulgarian Woodstock“. The event is taking place on the last Friday and Saturday of the month – 25th and 26th of August. This will be the ninth annual edition since 2009. It is organized by the notable political commentator Evgeni Daynov who owns a house in the village.

The festival is offering a selection of great quality music, arts, crafts, food and other entertainments you will definitely enjoy! The sponsors have thought of everything, including camping areas for the all the guests with tents and caravans. Everything is spot on!
