You can now pay your taxes for 2017

Just a quick reminder that from today (1st February) you can pay your property and waste management tax and/or your vehicle tax for 2017. If you choose to pay your due taxes before 30th April you will be entitled to a 5% discount.

Free books in exchange for your plastic waste II

Free Books for Your Plastic Waste Campaign is taking place in Veliko Tarnovo for the second time. The event will be held on 24th April, Sunday, from 10 am till 1 pm; the venue will be Mall Veliko Tarnovo.

All you need to do is hand in 1 kg of plastic waste and in return you will receive a voucher for a free book which you can choose from a book stall on the site. If you bring 2 kg of plastic you will get 2 vouchers. A third voucher will be not given no matter of the quantity of the rubbish you have.

The campaign last year was very successful – 14 tons of plastic waste was handed in and more than 11,000 books were given away. According to some studies the energy saved from the recycling of just 1 plastic bottle is enough to power a computer for 25 min!

Another campaign for electronic and hazardous waste collection

GHS_enVeliko Tarnovo Municipality is organizing yet another collection campaign for electronic and hazardous waste. So if you missed the opportunity to dispose safely of your unwanted stuff and substances last time now is the time to go on and do it. There are going to be two collection points – one opening on February, 25th in Buzludzha Neighbourhood, in the parking lot near the Open Market, from 10 am till 4 pm. The other one is going to be available on February, 26th, from 10 am to 4 pm in front of Mall Veliko Tarnovo, in the parking lot at Simeon Veliki Street.

There people can properly discard their expired medications, mercury-containing ampules and thermometers; lacquers, paints, thinners; household cleaners and chemicals; inks and contaminated packaging; expired pesticides; batteries and accumulators and electronic waste.

The campaign is part of the efforts of the Municipality to keep our town clean and free of hazardous substances.

There will be two collection points – one opening on October, 8th in Kartala Neighbourhood, in Stoyan Koledarov parking lot, from 10 am till 4 pm. The other one will be available on October, 9th, from 10 am to 4 pm in front of Mall Veliko Tarnovo, in the parking lot at Simeon Veliki Street.

People can safely dispose of their expired medications, mercury-containing ampules and thermometers; lacquers, paints, thinners; household cleaners and chemicals; inks and contaminated packaging; expired pesticides; batteries and accumulators and electronic waste.

The campaign is part of the efforts of the Municipality to keep our town clean and free of hazardous substances. Veliko Tarnovo Municipality is conforming to the high ecological standard ISO 14000 Environmental Management System for several years now. This system aims at minimizing the pollution and negative effects of human activity on the environment.
