The Christmas lights in Veliko Tarnovo will be lit with a musical flashmob

A Christmas flashmob in Veliko Tarnovo will light up the Christmas lights. The attractive event will take place exactly at 17:00 on December 1 (next Wednesday), next to the big Christmas tree in front of the Municipality. The flashmob was planned for this Friday (November 26), but due to the expected rain, it has been postponed to December 1.

The Christmas spirit and mood will be brought by the talents of the popular Junior Band brass band. The central part of the Old Capital will be voiced by popular melodies in a special arrangement, performed in the unique way, typical for the musicians from “Emilian Stanev” Secondary School.

The annual Christmas Bazaar in Veliko Tarnovo opens on November 26

The beloved by young and old Christmas Bazaar in Veliko Tarnovo opens at the end of the week. From November 26 to December 31, for the residents and guests of the Old Capital, Marno Pole Park will be turned into a fabulous Christmas town. As every year, the houses will offer various souvenirs, handmade products, a variety of meat delicacies, sweet treats, traditional mulled wine and more.

For the first time, new wooden pavilions will be located at the bazaar to present an even greater variety of Christmas decorations, toys, souvenirs, seasonal goods and many more festive sugar and culinary temptations. Children will be able to send their letters to Santa in the special Christmas mail, which will be open until December 21. To get an answer, the assistants of the white-bearded old man advise all the kids not to forget to write a return address in their wishes.

Growth in construction in the region despite the rising prices

This year there is about 14% growth in construction in Veliko Tarnovo and the region. It is close to the national average, which according to statistics is about 17% compared to 2020. The main part is housing, while the municipalities focus mainly on the construction of new infrastructure projects.

About 6,000 people are employed in the field of construction in Veliko Tarnovo district. Companies from other districts of the country are also coming to the region, and their number is increasing. Some of them fall into the gray sector and cannot be reported by the Chamber, as construction up to 100 square meters does not require registration with the construction organization.

Hidden underground baths of several centuries can become the new tourist attraction in Veliko Tarnovo

An architectural landmark of more than four centuries hides under the groun d, overgrown with bushes, in Veliko Tarnovo. These are the old Turkish baths, called hammams, built during the Turkish occupation, which are located by the Yantra River, at the foot of the Humanities High School. The idea to clear the spaces belongs to the enthusiasts from the club “TAM”, who are developing the project “Open City”.

They recently posted pictures of the interior of one of the bathrooms. Few devotees had the opportunity to get acquainted with its authentic beauty. Beautiful arches, lavish oriental ornaments, traces of mosaics and murals are still well preserved in the space, which is hidden from the eyes of passers.
