The eco-project of Veliko Tarnovo “My Garden” with its tenth anniversary edition

The Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo has announced the tenth anniversary edition of the eco-project “My Garden”. This year the residents of the Old Capital will be able again to transform the spaces around the residential buildings into beautiful corners with greenery and flowers. The planting material will be provided for free.

Applications for afforestation of municipal property will be accepted until the end of February. All property owners in the old capital city can take part, including representatives of the condominiums, selected according to the established normative requirements.

A famous American traveler is shooting videos for Veliko Tarnovo

The 56-year-old traveler Forest Mallard has started shooting 19 videos that will promote Veliko Tarnovo around the world. The first five are already available and are dedicated to the Stambolov Bridge, the House with the monkey, the Monument “Assenevtsi”, Mother Bulgaria War Memorial and the Monument of Vasil Levski.

Forest Mallard will stay in Veliko Tarnovo for a month and will be immersed in the history of the city. Videos about a number of other historical landmarks in the old capital are to be shot. Tsarevets, the monument “Velchova Zavera”, the performance “Sound and Light”, the Archaeological Museum, the Patriarchate, the Sarafkin House and many others will be presented.

Forest first came to Veliko Tarnovo in 2016 and immediately fell in love with the city. The landscape, the architecture, the monuments, the medieval ruins and the vast history were unexpected and fascinating. It seems that the whole tourist marketing for Bulgaria directed him to Plovdiv and Sofia, but as a person who loves history, Forest was struck by the fortresses of Veliko Tarnovo and Kardzhali and the natural wonders of Belogradchik.

A new playground for mountain biking and other sports activities will be made in Veliko Tarnovo

In the summer of last year, the Municipality announced that a new project for a park space with areas for sports activities, temporary attractions, parking and a place for free walking of pets has been prepared for the territory of the circus site. Due to the lack of funding under European programs, the mayor’s office has launched a procedure for the gradual construction of the site with its own funds. The first stage includes the construction of an asphalt pump-track, and the track must be designed to offer fun and at the same time safe sports activities for people of all ages and with different skill levels.

The annual Christmas Bazaar in Veliko Tarnovo opens on November 26

The beloved by young and old Christmas Bazaar in Veliko Tarnovo opens at the end of the week. From November 26 to December 31, for the residents and guests of the Old Capital, Marno Pole Park will be turned into a fabulous Christmas town. As every year, the houses will offer various souvenirs, handmade products, a variety of meat delicacies, sweet treats, traditional mulled wine and more.

For the first time, new wooden pavilions will be located at the bazaar to present an even greater variety of Christmas decorations, toys, souvenirs, seasonal goods and many more festive sugar and culinary temptations. Children will be able to send their letters to Santa in the special Christmas mail, which will be open until December 21. To get an answer, the assistants of the white-bearded old man advise all the kids not to forget to write a return address in their wishes.
