The one-year-old badger Dobri is the newest resident in Pavlikeni’s Zoo. He was given to the zoo by a hunter from the village of Kamen near Veliko Tarnovo, who raised him in his home. That’s why Dobri is tame and very friendly to all visitors – big and small. He likes to eat fruit, corn, eggs, small vertebrates, insects and more. The only zoo in the Veliko Tarnovo region has recently acquired a pair of birds – mandarin. They are one of the most beautiful and expensive decorative ducks.

“Kikimora” will play big rock hits of the 20th century in Veliko Tarnovo
“Kikimora” and the orchestra of the Burgas Opera will play the biggest rock hits of the 20th century in Veliko Tarnovo. On July 18, 2019 in the Summer Theatre of Veliko Tarnovo the biggest rock hits of the twentieth century will come to life. Nikolo Kotsev with his band “Kikimora” and the Symphony Orchestra of the State Opera – Burgas will prove that rock is alive in their project “They Say Rock Is Dead”.
Eighth National Festival of Sheep Breeders near Veliko Tarnovo
More than 200 exhibitors will arrive for the 8th edition of the National Festival of Sheep Breeders near Veliko Tarnovo. Traditionally, it is held near the Petropavlovski Monastery and this year it will be from 10 to 12 May. The motto of the festival is “Bulgarian foods from Bulgarian raw materials”. The fair will unfold on a terrain of 140 acres with two scenes, over 5 500 sq. m. exhibition halls, a tent of 1 300 sq.m. for the presentation of different types of sheep and goats, a field for horse racing, exhibition areas, and more.
Second edition of the Festival “Return” in Hotnitsa village near Veliko Tarnovo
The festival “Return”, based on self-organization and for the benefit of Bulgarian artists and creators, will take place on 18 and 19 May this year, in the village of Hotnitsa, near Veliko Tarnovo. Anyone wishing to join the initiative in support of Bulgarian art, creators and authors is more than welcome.
