Enyovden celebrations at Samodskata Charshia for the 13th time

On the 24th of June the Samovodska Charshia in Veliko Tarnovo will welcome visitors for Enyovden celebrations for 13th year in a row. This is day of summer solstice, herbal remedies and ancient magic rituals. The festive days starts at 10.00 am on Friday with the traditional passing through a wreath which has 77 herbs intertwined in it. This is done following the ancient rituals and is said to bring good health.

The chairman of the Union of Herbalists in Bulgaria, Emil Elmazov, will have a lecture on the herb Enyovche and its healing properties. Then everyone can try a beverage made from the herb. Throughout the day there will be an exhibition with some of the most popular herbs in Bulgaria and their beneficial effects.

Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanasi included in luxury cruises along the Danube

Arbanassi and Veliko Tarnovo are part of luxury cruise itineraries that are offered at prices between 560 and 660 dollars. One of the companies providing them is the Bulgarian Dunav Tours which offers unforgettable experiences aboard the five-star cruise ship Elegant Lady. The trip is called Danubian romance and starts from Vienna, passing through Budapest, Esztergom, Melk, Passau, etc. The voyage takes seven days and provides on ground tours from Ruse to Ivanovo Rock Monastery, the Old Bulgarian capital Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi. Police Academy Motor Stunt Show in Veliko Tarnovo

The show makes it possible for the first time ever for Bulgarian audience to enjoy a stunt show with bikes, cars, hot dancing and great music. Guests from Italy and the best stunters in Bulgaria will take part in the show. The event kick starts on Friday from 7 pm. There will be 2 performances on Saturday – from 5 pm and 7 pm and on 2 on Sunday – from 11 am and 6 pm. The venue is the circus arena behind Billa Store. Six performances to be shown at the Stage of the Ages Opera Festival

picSix impressive performances will be presented this year during the Stage of the Ages Opera Festival. The venue as usual will be Tsarevets Fortress.

The festival will be launched on July, 15th. The first play to delight fans of classical art will be The Count of Monte Cristo based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas.

On 23rd July residents and guests of Veliko Tarnovo can see the opera Nabucco. The next show is scheduled for July 29th – Aida by Giuseppe Verdi; and on August 5th you can see the ballet show Don Quixote by Ludwig Minkus. The calendar continues on August img27th with Carmen by Georges Bizet. The rock opera Jesus Christ superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber is to be staged on September, 3rd.

The Stage of the Ages Summer Opera Festival received the prestigious European Festivals – Festivals in Europe award for year 2015/2016. The seats available for each show will be more than 1800. Tickets are priced between 10 and 40 leva and can be purchased from the Municipal Tourist Agency office and on the Internet.

Veliko Tarnovo in the Heart of History to be shown at 9 international film festivals

The travel documentary film Veliko Tarnovo in the Heart of History is to be shown at nine international festivals this year. The tape is included in the programs of Tourfilm Riga (Latvia), Film Art & Tourism Festival “FilmAT” (Poland), BAKU INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FILM FESTIVAL (Azerbaijan), ZAGREB TOURFILM FESTIVAL (Croatia), International Festival of Tourism Films in Istanbul, Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2016 (France), ART & TUR – International Tourism Film Festival (Portugal), Tourfilm Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) and SILAFEST (Serbia). All forums are part of the prestigious system CIFFT – International Committee of the Festivals for Tourism Films (http://www.cifft.com).

Veliko Tarnovo in the Heart of History tells the story of the old Bulgarian capital in an intricate way and will take your breath away with unique footage, animation and interesting facts about the tourist sites in the town. The famous Bulgarian actor Yulian Vergov will guide you through emblematic landmarks in a friendly and engaging way.

This is the first travel documentary film in Bulgaria ever to be shot and screened in the highest technical standard in cinema – 4k format.

This week the film is released on DVD in two versions – Bulgarian and English, and can be purchased from the Tourist Information Centre in Veliko Tarnovo, in various souvenir shops or ordered online.
