New Shopping Centre Veliko Tarnovo will be opened in the Poltava Complex

The new shopping centre Veliko Tarnovo will include a 3-story complex with an underground parking and a big cinema.

The owner of the cultural complex “Poltava” Velichko Minev is currently clearing some of the dangerous elements of the facade, where the cinema had been up until years ago, waiting to get the proper construction permit to completely rebuild Poltava. According to Minev the work that needs to be done will take around a year or so. He has plans to build an underground parking on 3 or even 4 levels if the terrain allows. As anyone living in Tarnovo knows parking in this town is extremely hard so a new parking will definitely come in handy. Besides an underground parking the complex will most likely include a cinema, as well as a few well-known retail chains.

Banitsa fest in the Veliko Tarnovo district

There will be a Banitsa fest in Karantsi, a village in the Veliko Tarnovo district on 11^th of August.

The banitsa is a traditional Bulgarian bakery, which consists of rolled up or layered sheets of loose dough with stuffing between them. Various fillings are used – most often cheese or cottage cheese, with or without added eggs. The dish can also be made with vegetables, meat, fruits and so on. It is usually baked in an oven.

Veliko Tarnovo has a new place for fresh food and drinks – Porto Fresh

The official opening of the place was on Saturday at 14.10 am. The New Veliko Tarnovo Centre could include 15-story buildings with hanging gardens, underground parking and futuristic congress center

The Italian architect Claudio Nordi received the first award in the international competition for a new Veliko Tarnovo centre. His development was awarded 25,000 euros. It provides 15-story buildings with gardens between floors, a 6,000-square-meter congress centre, underground parking, a modern library and several museums.

An international jury, which was led by Prof. Arch. Georgi Stanishev reviewed 62 works that competed in the contest just for a day and a half. All projects will be made available to the public for feedback.
