Veliko Tarnovo is a very beautiful town that has always enchanted foreigners with its tiered architecture. In October 1907 the popular National Geographic magazine published the travel notes of the American traveller Felix J. Cox entitled Tarnovo – the town of the hanging gardens; the author was smitten with the splendour of the town. Many professional gardeners have worked in the old capital of Bulgaria at the beginning of last century; they’ve created one of the most exquisite and distinguished parks in the country.
In order to revive this tradition and put it in a modern day perspective Veliko Tarnovo Municipality is organizing the First Park Festival in the town. It will be held on June, 21st from 11 am at Boruna Park, near Asenevtsi Monument.
Project Art Summer 2014 will delight us with a beer festival and lots of live music from 13th till 15th June. On Saturday live acts kick off at 5 pm. Football fans will able to watch The World Cup matches live from Brazil on a big screen. It’s going to be a great festival with lots of live music, beer and of course football. Come and join the party.

The Spanish group Chambao opens the summer festive season in Veliko Tarnovo. Chambao is a flamenco-electronic band from Malaga, known for a Flamenco Chill sound that fuses flamenco sounds with electronic music. The name of the band is taken from an improvised form of beach tent that is constructed as a means of sheltering from the wind and sun.
It took only a few years for the band to capture fans’ hearts all over the world. The music performed by the musician is charged with love for life, emotions, human desires and weaknesses and the power to overcome all hardships. Chambao enchants its audience at each of its concerts.
The band is going to perform live on June, 7th at the Summer theatre at Marno Pole Park. The show starts at 9 pm. Tickets cost from 20 to 60 lv and can be bought from the Tourist information centre, near the Post Office and also on-line.
