Veliko Tarnovo hopes to receive euro funding of 4 million levs for the realization of the aerial lift project that is to connect Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanasi. The cable car idea has been around for the last 10 years but was never implemented because of lack of money.
In the new programme period Veliko Tarnovo administration will apply for funding under operational programs, which now allow for funding for this kind of attractions.
The Summer Theatre in Marno Pole Park
ABBA’s timeless hits will take over the towns of Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse and Lovech. The ABBA Tribute Concert in Veliko Tarnovo will be held on July 5th from 8 pm, the venue being Veliko Tarnovo Summer Theatre at Marno Pole Park. Famous Bulgarian singers and bands in collaboration with Ruse Philharmonic Orchestra are going to perform the greatest tracks of ABBA, one of the all-time super groups in music history.

The X Factor Bulgaria auditions are back on the road later this month and they start from Veliko Tarnovo! Contestants willing to show their talent are increasing with each year. The X factor auditioning crew will visit 5 towns this year in search of the best and freshest voice. If you ever thought about auditioning now is the time. On July 16th you will have the opportunity to show the jury what you’ve got at Yantra Grand Hotel between 9 am and 7 pm! You just need to apply on-line and register for Veliko Tarnovo. Show them that you have the X factor.
The venue
July Morning is a hippie-influenced fest that started in 1972. The name of the event is closely related to Uriah Heep’s hit July Morning which was widely popular in Bulgaria at the time. It’s a unique fest that exists only in this country. Groups of people gather on the eve of July, 1st, usually at the beach, and stay up all night to meet the first Sun rays on the first day of July. They start fires, share drinks and play music while they wait for the sunrise. Although there are a number of versions at to what this tradition signifies, most people consider July Morning a celebration of the new beginning and the freedom of the spirit. It is considered that that the fest started as a subtle act of protest against the communist regime.
