Ovcha Mogila – unique with its hot mineral water

Not far from Veliko Tarnovo is the village of Ovcha Mogila boasting with its Mineral Water Hospital.  It has been partly renovated and now features new facilities for balneotherapy, physiotherapy and a canteen seating 120 people and is operating all year round. The major remedial factor in the sanatorium is the mineral water of course. Over 80% of the mineral water sources in Bulgaria are lightly mineralized (their mineral content is less than 1 g per litre). The mineral level of the water in Ovcha Mogila is 4 g per litre placing her in the moderately mineralized category thus rendering it as ‘strong water’ suitable for the treatment of a number of ailments. It is also hyper thermal – the water issued from the springs is 45 degrees.

The hot mineral water is beneficial for the following conditions – arthrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, neuralgia, neuritis, radiculitis, polyneuritis, polyneuropathy, diabetes and gout.
