The through rehabilitation of Magistralna Street starts tomorrow and it will be divided into 4 stages, the official site of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality announced. Different lots of the street will be closed during the process. A temporary traffic organization will be imposed from tomorrow till June, 30th.
The reconstruction will comprise of new curbs, sidewalks, park zone around the warehouses area and the Language High School and of course entirely new asphalt.
Throughout the period the main road Sofia – Varna traffic in both directions will be redirected via Cholakovtsi Neighbourhood. Drivers in the old town must comply with the indicative road signs that will be placed at the intersections with the closed sections of Magistralna Street.
During the first stage Magistralna Street will be closet from the West Road Junction through to the first roundabout.
During the second stage the closed lot will be from the second roundabout (near Billa Store) through the intersection with Slavyanska Street (the one going to the traffic lights and the stadium). There will be some access to the Commercial Park stores (CBA, Praktiker, JYSK). Magistralna Street will be closed from Slavyanska street down to Marmarliyska street (at the traffic lights) during the third stage. The last part of the project will see closed the street from the traffic lights intersection all the way to the bridge going to Veliko Tarnovo Railway station (near Technopolis Store).
